Funding and Fees
We work with a range of funding schemes and private payment arrangements. Contact our administration team if you would like to discuss your options.
NDIS
We currently accept referrals from self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants and are in the process of re-registering with the NDIA.
Our NDIS fees follow the current NDIS pricing arrangements and price limits. We bill for the time spent providing each service and focus our reports and recommendations on what is relevant to the participant and the scheme.
Typical service times are:
- functional assessments: 5–10 hours
- assistive technology applications: 3–4 hours
- support letters: 15–30 minutes
- progress reports: 2–3 hours
- complex home modification reports: 10–15 hours
- SIL/SDA reports: 10–15 hours
These estimates vary with the complexity of each referral. Your therapist can discuss the likely time involved and will collaborate with the wider treating team where appropriate.
We can also help people applying to access the NDIS. Access reports are generally capped at $450. If a full report is not required, we can provide targeted assistance at $180 per hour to help minimise costs.
Driving assessments
A driving assessment in Melbourne and surrounding suburbs costs $400. This includes the off-road and on-road assessments, travel and a report. A driving instructor is also required for the on-road component and generally charges an additional $140–$170.
Fees may vary by funding scheme; for example, NDIS assessments have additional documentation requirements. Pension and health care card holders are welcome to contact us to discuss fees. See our driving assessments page for what the assessment involves.
Medicare
Aidaway is a registered Medicare provider. People with chronic conditions or complex care needs may be eligible for Medicare assistance when referred by a GP as part of a care plan.

Private health
Some private health policies cover occupational therapy or contribute towards assistive equipment. Contact your insurer to confirm the services and amounts covered by your policy.
DVA
Eligible Department of Veterans’ Affairs clients may receive full coverage for occupational therapy services. See the DVA information about occupational therapy services.
WorkSafe
Aidaway OT is a registered WorkSafe provider. Contact your case manager about funding approval and see the WorkSafe occupational therapy fee schedule.
TAC

Self-funded and private rates
Standard consultation rates are $180 per hour.

Home Care Package / Support at Home
Our therapists work with a range of Home Care Package and Support at Home providers and support older people with diverse clinical needs. We aim to use available funding efficiently while addressing immediate and longer-term goals. Contact our administration team for current rates.
Common questions
How much does occupational therapy cost?
Standard consultations are $180 per hour. NDIS work follows the NDIS pricing arrangements. A driving assessment is $400 for privately funded clients and Home Care Packages, plus the driving instructor’s fee of around $140 to $170.
Can you take NDIA-managed participants?
Not at present. We accept self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants while we work through re-registration with the NDIA.
